E4P is a UEFA core partner within their Football and Social Responsibility strategy. UEFA has been supporting the “Master Your Emotions” (MYE) programme since 2007. MYE aims to integrate education in behaviour awareness into grassroots football training, with respect as its core value. The initiative focuses on programmes and trainings for young players, trainers and referees. It aims to have clubs becoming centres of excellence in teaching “emotional wellbeing” – how to understand and manage one’s own emotions, so as to better communicate with others – as well as teaching physical and technical skills.
In 2007, E4P and UEFA both supported the first International Congress on Emotional Health, with the backing of the World Health Organisation (WHO). E4P and UEFA will also be supporting the next IFOTES Congress, “Exploring alternatives to violence”, at which they will be presenting the MYE programme. The Congress takes place in Vienna in July 2010.
